Our team
Libraries with Love is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Katherine Ge, driven by a passion for reading and sharing. In 2020, Katherine organized her first book drive to donate books to underprivileged children in the Linda Vista area. The goal was to upcycle outgrown or unused books that some children no longer read, and provide them to other children who would cherish them. She believed that the love of reading and share of reading resources can connect people, even in a time when our community was so separated in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was incredibly inspiring to witness the eager service and generosity of our community. Since 2021, she has been working together with volunteers with multiple student clubs nationwide and organized more book drive and fundraising. Student volunteers set up book drive stands in neighborhoods, community centers, and community parks to collect books. The books were used to set up reading corners at local community center, and shipped to Africa to build school libraries in collaboration with the African Library Project. Moving forward, Libraries with Love will continue to foster teamwork by facilitating collaborations with individual volunteers, student clubs, and sponsors to inspire and encourage people to help others.
